Armed with basic employment information provided by employers and personal research, employees can estimate fair wages based on their job obligations and benefits, while striving to outperform themselves and earn higher wages. Companies have legitimate reasons to protect confidential processes and other sensitive and secure information. Privacy policies are legal and necessary as long as they distinguish between the rights and property of the company and its partners and the rights of employees. However, an organization may not attempt to control or prohibit wage discussions related to the union organization that protects the NLRA in Section 7. .
